Dear Friend
We need your help. Harvest Aid is dependant on people just like you. Your help in the past has made all the difference in the lives of the children and grannies that we serve. The blankets that our partners have given have kept people warm, each bucket of groceries has meant a balanced meal for young children, every cash gift has enabled us to fulfil our mandate. A huge thank you to you if you have given or if you give regularly.
Many individuals, service organizations and businesses have trusted us with their donations. Peter Schleiss from Investec Capital Markets says, I support Harvest Aid because over 90% of the assets or the cash that I donate are given to the needy and because I believe that food is the first priority of the needy and also because I believe that children are not able to solve the problems facing them without having to beg. Victoria Randall a volunteer says, My experience as a volunteer with Harvest Aid was simply wonderful. It is a charity that has everyone they reach close to their hearts.
Over the last 8 years Harvest Aid has helped thousands of children in some way in many cases, changing their lives radically. We would have helped even more if we had the resources. Right now we are feeling the effects of the recession and we have experienced many of our regular supporters stopping or lowering their donations. We are appealing to your generosity and asking to recommit to Harvest Aid. Allow us to be your hands and feet in the poorer communities around us.
We have all felt the recession none more so than the poorest of the poor; orphaned children. Harvest Aid needs your generosity so that we can ensure a constant flow of food to the orphaned and abandoned children we work with.
Despite all the good things we report on in our newsletters from month to month we are under pressure and we need our partners to rally around us at this time. Our greatest need is for consistent monthly giving in order to be able to plan, budget and to expand our feeding projects. Harvest Aid can and does make a difference.
Noel Studti, entrepreneur and businessman said this of Harvest Aid: For a long time, I have looked for an organization where my contribution will directly benefit the individuals who so desperately need help. Harvest Aid is that organization .. another partner says: I like the fact that Harvest Aid is a registered tax exempt organization and that I can claim my donation against company tax.
Here is our appeal to you. Will you send a special gift this month of R100 or more? We can feed a child on R160 per month. Could you sponsor a needy child at R300 per month or take on a shared sponsorship at R150 per month? If only everyone gave something. Please dont rely on others giving we need you.
Yours Sincerely
Steven (Fanie) Loots
